AP Creator of the Month : Courtney Trouble

Spread the love

Welcome to AP Spotlight. Every month, we’ll pick an AP Creator of the Month and interview them, and sometimes we’ll get some quick tips for other AP Creators.

For June, our AP Creator of the Month is Courtney Trouble

Courtney Trouble is a tour de force when it comes to indie queer porn. They’re a queer punk artist creating bold and authentic content with a feminist and sex-positive approach. Their work has been recognized for its artistic and cultural significance, being featured in numerous film festivals, museums, and publications worldwide. They are a true queer porn icon and we’re so glad to have them be on our humble platform since the beginning 💖

Let’s get to know Courtney! 🎉

How’d you get into creating adult content?
When I was 18 I started doing phone sex professionally and I was inspired to start making porn where instread of the fantasy girl on the phone, it was me – queer, kinky, curvy and part of many nerdy subcultures. Being able to turn my sex work experience into something artistic and personal has been such a good journey for me, I’m glad I took the chance.

What’s your favorite content that you’ve shot?
I love women so much, so picking a favorite out of anything I’ve shot that’s lesbian would be pretty difficult. I will say I think that my most perfect pairings in porn have been Sinn Sage, Karla Lane, Chelsea Poe, and April Flores.

If you make customs, what’s the weird request you’ve received and did you shoot it?Giantess customs will always feel bizarre to me because I’m super short, but I love shooting them because it gives me a great perspective and is just so fun to “bust out” of things!

What do you like about using AP Clips as a platform?
I’ve always enjoyed being a part of the community here, there’s so many cool DIY artists and porn stars that are doing interesting things here! And of course I appreciate the hard work behind running an indie clip site. I appreciate AP Clips so much!

What are five words to describe your brand?
curvy, queer, kinky, cute, and curious!

Has your brand evolved since you started? If so, how?
Too much to say, because I started out making content when I was 18 and even in those first five years, my identity changed so much and I found my place and my people. When I started making content, “making content” wasn’t really a thing, I was part of a very small group just making queer DIY porn. Now, content creation is a real career and there’s community to be had, so I think i just get to focus on what makes me feel sexy and not worry about trying to do too much!  I really love making fun fetish content geared towards lesbian BDSM, and I know my fans appreciate when I work with other fat/plus size/BBW models.

What’s your trick to balancing your daily life?
I take care of a lot of plants, animals, and family. Getting some time to unwind with music and yoga keeps me feeling the most balanced because if I don’t take time out for myself to conjure relaxation, it will never come!

What are your go-to TV shows to binge watch?
The pandemic really brought out the avid TV watcher in me. I’m currently watching a lot of The Nanny and Golden Girls which were not shows I’ve ever watched with the attention they deserved. Um, those shows are incredible! I also confess to having seen nearly every season of both Drag Race and Project Runway – can we have shows like that for adult models & performers? I love the whole format of creating challenges and critique, it would be really fun to see what kind of erotic content was made under those chaotic restraints.

What’s a meme you’d use to describe yourself?
STITCH INCOMING!!!! I have an opinion on everything!

Do you have any advice for creators who are just starting?
Oh gosh, I’d love to get some advice from them. I think it’s super important to try and be on top of what’s coming up next and network with whomever you can. People who are new to the industry have the best insight on what’s popular or new, and that can be a blessing or a curse.  You don’t need to say yes to everything, but getting to know as many people as you can in the industry can help you frame your own brand and interests. And always put your health first; you’re not a failure at all if you take a break and come back for any reason.
