Building strong customer relationships can help to ensure a steady income and fan base for sex workers. However, this can be tricky since it’s important to have firm boundaries with customers as well as interacting with them in a way that is beneficial to everyone.
Noticing red flags can be especially important in navigating customer relationships. Some customers will ask for personal information that you might not be comfortable sharing, or expect unpaid emotional labor from you. These can be signs that this customer is looking for something you can’t provide, and it’s always okay to gently tell them so. Remember to always put your safety first! Even if someone is a consistent customer, that does not entitle them to any of your personal information or your unpaid time.
Spotting a good regular is a great skill to build. Good regulars consistently buy your content, tip you, and interact without demanding too much of your time and attention unpaid. It can be helpful to chat with these customers a little extra and build up a rapport so that they remain committed to supporting you and buying your content. Some customers can even become good friends if clear boundaries are set and you feel safe and supported!
