Putting the Porn in Personality by Espi Kvlt

Maybe you’re just starting out and you have no idea what your “brand” is yet. Maybe you’ve been making porn for a while and while you have a “brand” established, you don’t feel it’s very authentic to you. Or maybe you’ve been making porn for a little while but still haven’t felt like you’ve latched onto a particular “brand” just yet. Regardless of your particular situation, branding is super important in porn. It’s how you stand out from the crowd, and it’s how you show off the authentic you that entices customers to want to know you better and to feel a connection with you. While it may seem like a daunting task figuring out a particular brand and sticking with it long-term, letting your personality shine through in your porn could be the difference between having a large, niche customer base or not.

To start with, I’ll go ahead and talk about my particular brand. I started by choosing a porn name that illustrated who I am as a person. The Espi part of my name, which is short for Espeon, shows that I am a nerdy gamer. The other part of my name, Kvlt, shows that I am a metalhead who is super into black metal specifically. These two sides of my personality have allowed me to make a name for myself both as a cosplayer and as a metalhead. When people buy my porn, they’re guaranteed to see one of my two sides: super nerdy or super metal. Often with splashes of both. Because of this, I have attracted a large customer base of nerds, metalheads, and people who find either of those things kinky/attractive. While it’s not uncommon for me to deviate a little bit into other more common fetishes, a vast majority of my videos cater to my brand and that’s what people know me for.

So, how can you figure out your specific brand? Well, that’s where the good news is. As you can probably tell from my own brand, I just took pieces of who I already am and turned that into my porn persona. It’s not rare for people to choose a brand completely outside of their regular personalities. For instance, I once knew a sex worker who was a total goth in real life but decided to curate her brand around the bimbo Barbie aesthetic. And that’s totally fine! If you want your porn persona to be completely different from you, that’s a great way to separate your reality from your fiction and keep your porn life totally separate from your real life. However, I am here today to tell you how to build a persona around the real you, so if that’s not exactly what you’re looking for, I suggest looking at other porn performers and coming up with your personal brand by taking inspiration from others (such as my friend did with the Bimbo Barbie aesthetic).

Here’s some ways you can turn aspects of your personality into a fun and interesting porn persona :

Music

What kind of music are you into? As you can tell from my own real-life example, being a metalhead was a nice way of me turning my real-life interest into a porn persona. I’ve also often seen this achieved with things like EDM/ravers, who base their porn aesthetic around that lifestyle. I’ve seen this achieved with country lovers, who base their persona around their love of the south and their passion for county music. I’ve seen it done with goths, with punks, with people who love doo-wop, and with people who love rap. You could build your whole persona off your love for a particular music genre!

Movies & Television

What kinds of shows/movies do you enjoy? Do you have a passion for all things nerdy and sci-fi? You could build an entire persona around that and cosplay as your favorite characters! Do you prefer old 50’s shows? Design your porn persona after a 50s aesthetic, or even combine interests and make your porn persona into a rockabilly star! Are you super into noire detective shows and movies? You could design a super interesting persona based on detective shows and even make your porn into a noire style. In fact, taking inspiration from shows and movies is always a good idea since you, too, will be the producer, director, and star of your own amateur films. You could not only create some of the most innovative porn in the game, but you could also be creating cinematic quality levels of porn if you take inspiration from the pros!

High School Stereotype

If you had to fit yourself into a high school stereotype, where would you fit in? If you’d fall in with the jocks, you could curate porn around being athletic, sporty, and even healthy. If you were (or wished you were) the popular kids, you could make your aesthetic around being a bratty Barbie. If you’d fit in more with the nerds, cosplay is always a great way to go, and you could show off your interest in all things nerdy! While it’s not so fun being stereotyped in high school, it is a great way as an adult to find your brand and design your porn persona around it.

If you still aren’t sure and are thinking perhaps you just aren’t very interesting – don’t! Everyone can build a brand around literally anything. I’ve seen people build their porn personas around being health dommes, I’ve seen people build their brands around loving Mario, I’ve even seen people build their brands around being as gross as humanely possible! Whatever your interests are, you can build a porn persona around it, and if you think you still can’t, feel free to get in touch with me. I can totally help you find a way to use your interests to build your brand!
